THE GOOD OLD DAYS

Sometimes  when  I  am  alone
I  go  down  the  shore
I Walk  along  the  beach
Watching  the  white ocean waves
Crashing into  the  rocks with nice breeze
As the waves  dance  with  the  sands and the
Seagulls  greeting  me  with  joy
I  sit  on  the  rock  alone thinking of  our  old  friends
Friends  that we  had  so  much  fun with,
when  we  were  young not so long ago
We used to walk by  the beach  swim  and play ball
Sing  along  under  the  shimmering  stars
Dance  to  the  night  away
When  we  were  together how fun it was
Great times  we  have  shared, where  have  they  gone?
Everyone  has  gone  different  directions
Some  moved so far  away,
Some  are  too  busy With  their  grown  up  children
Grand  children  and  older  parents  to  care for
Oh We  thought  we  would  always  stay  young
Oh We  thought  our  friendship  would  never  end
Those  days  are  gone!
There  are  now only  precious  memories that we  will
always  share  together and I  will
treasure  them  all in  my  heart forever.

RAIN

Let  the  shimmering  raindrops
Fall  on  your  face
Let  the  rain  soak  your  hair
And  your  clothes
Your  hair  and  your  clothes
Feel  this  pure  excitement
Don’t  use  the umbrella  this  time
Let  the  rain  sing  for  you
Enjoy  nature’s gift from  the  skies
Washing  out  the  dust  and  dirt
It  gives  new  life  to  everything
Shines  and  sparkles
Trees  flowers  shrubs  and  grass
Without  rain  wouldn't  be  so colorful
At  my  roof  falling  I hear raindrops
That sings  me  great lullaby!

MOTHER TO DAUGHTER

When  you  enter  my  home with
your  smiling  face  and your  worm  embrace
You  bring  sunshine  to  my  heart  which
Brightens  my  day. You make  me  forget my old  age,  aches  and  pains
When this  world  holds  no  more  interest  to  me
I  feel  old  and  helpless
All I  need is your  love  and  care
When  you  visit  me
Your  sunshine  reflects  my  life
Evoking  memories  of  years  gone  by of the
Youthful  days and fun  filled  times
You  bring  me  laughter  and  joy
You  are  the  song
I  sang  when  I  was  young

SEE - SAW

I am  torn,  I  lost
In  between  two  countries
My  heart  loves  them  both
My  thoughts  live  in them  both
Just  like  a  mother’s  heart
Loving  all  her  children  with  equal  love
When  I  am  there  my  heart and  my  mind  is  here
I  am thinking  my  home  my  children  my  job
When  I  am  here  my  thoughts  are  there
I  always  miss  my  homeland
My  mother  my  father  my  sisters  and  my  brothers
I  am  riding  a  seesaw  in  between  two worlds
I  ask  myself  why  do  I  feel  this  way
Why  of this  deep  confusion  inside
Why  do  I  feel  like  lost  at  sea  searching  for  shore
fighting  the  tidal  waves  and great outward  pull
Deafened  by  their  endless  roars
My  tears  gives  no  answers  to  why
I  am  lost  why  I  am  torn  between   two  countries
My  mind  wonders  among  its  tangled  dreams
On  a  seesaw  between  here  and  there

NEW JERSEY

Once  in  New Jersey  flowers  grow
Gardens  filled  with  colorful  flowers
Azaleas,  iris’s,  tulips,  marigolds,
Rose  bushes  climbs  to  the  walls  of  the  homes
Where flowers  smelled  like  perfume
And Wild  flowers  decorated the prairies
And Park’s  were  the birds  heavens
And no concrete  buildings  reaching  up to  the  skies
But Roads  and  highways  filled  with  bumper to bumper cars
Factories  are making much pollution
  coloring  the skies  with  gray
We  are  breathing  the dirty  filthy  air
Polluted  air  polluted  ground  and  polluted  waters for who?
New  Jersey  is called  Garden  State
Now  chemicals  buried  beneath  the Gardens
We  are sitting  in  it like a  home made time  bomb when will it end?
What  kind  of  world  are we  are  living in and
What  kind  a  world   we  will  be  living in?
What now to  our  grand  children and  future  generations
This  world  is  not  yours  or  mine
This  world  is  belong  to  everyone
We  are  here  only  for  a  short  time
We  have  no  right  to  abuse  mother  earth
Once  upon a time in  New  Jersey
Fruits  and  vegetables  grew
Colorful  flowers  that bloomed  everywhere
like  a  colorful  carpet all around us
That  is  why  nick  name  is  called
Garden  State,  New  Jersey

VIETNAM WAR MEMORIAL

Thousands  of  people  come  here
From  all  around  the  country
Some  travel  from  faraway  places
Some  near  by  some  are in  wheelchairs
Some  are  on  crutches
Come  here  to  see  someone  dear  to  them
Try  to  find  name  on  black  wall  of  granite stone
Try  to  touch  the  name
Silence  tears  flows  and  praying  follows
No  rank  no  fame  they  all  the  same
Inscribed  on  a  black  granite  wall
These  are  the  names  of  soldiers
Who  died  so young  all  innocent
Which  they  didn’t  believe  to  fight
What  they  are fighting  for
Because  government  order  them
To  fight  to stop  communism  in Vietnam
Because  America’s  idea is bring  the  freedom
instead of  spreading  communism all around  the  world
Fighting  for  the  freedom  and  power

MEMORIES

Since you’re gone
My wings  are broken
I  feel like  I am  wounded
My wounds  are  covered  only  in bandages
I  am  like  a broken  winged  bird and I  can’t  fly
My  pain  and  suffering  will ever end
I  don’t know  how  long  will  it  take  to  heal
I  am  a soul like  a living  dead
Only  moving  with  no  soul
When  I  come  home  from  my  work
Not  to  see you  again  it  hurts  me  so
I  miss  your  smile  I  miss  your  voice
I  miss  your  touching  me
Holding  me  in  your  arms
Without  you  my  nights  are  long  I  am  lonely
I  know I can’t  bring  you  back
I will try  to  find  strength
Thinking  of  our  happy  years  being  together
They  form  a  beautiful  landscape  in  my  mind
That  is  what  keeps  me  going those memories

WHEN YOU'RE IN LOVE

When  your  in  love
And  the one  who  loves  you  back
Songs  about  love  and
Songs  about  life  is  beautiful
When  you’re  sharing  life’s  excitement
You’re  stronger  and more  alive
When  you’re  in  love And  loved  by  that  person
Misery  and  problems  all  seems  to  vanish
Love  makes  life  smoother  easier  to  fathom
Love  heals  the  wounds  of  pass  hurts  and  despair
Think  look  more  beauteous  transformed  as  it  were
When  skies  gray  and  cloudy  it  will  look  blue  pink
And  you  see  things
You  have  never  noticed  before
When  you  are  loved  by  someone  special
Life  takes  on  a  radiance  as  never  before
Nature  becomes  like  a  poetic  vision
As  butterflies  dance  to  the  songs  of  your  love

ON ROUTE 70

There  is  a  gray  ribbon  of  moonlight
Over  the  black  meadows men are riding
With  their  eighteen  wheelers
On  the  four  lane  ribbon  like highway
Caring  America’s  goods  coast  to  coast
From  New  York  to  California
They  know  the  roads  by  heart
They  pass  through  same  way  thousands  times
They  can  tell  you
How  to  get  to  the large  cities
From  towns  to  farms
Hotels  motels  restaurants
Where  to  eat  good  meals
They  know  the  histories  of  the places
Mountains  valleys  lakes  and  rivers
They  pass  through  same  scenery  thousands  times
they  know  the  roads  by  heart
They  have  to  deal  with  in  fogy  conditions
Snow  storms  and  the icy  roads
At  night  the  moon  is  their  night  sun
Starry  nights  illuminates  their  hearts
They  sing  of  their  life  stories
On  the  road  over  with  their  CB’s  on and  on
Not  knowing  who  you  are  doesn’t  matter
Knowing  they  will  never  see  you
Country  music  and  women  are  their  favorite  talk
Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn  Willie Nelson’s
Patsy Cline  song’s  blasting
Echoing on the  pray  land
They  dream  of  fresh  brewed  hot  coffee
Number seventy  six  truck  stops
Waiting  for  eighteen  wheelers
Fresh  brewed  coffee  with  large  mug
And  delicious  hot  meals  with  generous  portions
They  are  the  soldiers  of  the  highway
If  your  car  is  broken  down, they  will be  the  first  ones  to  help  you
When  you’re  thousands  miles  away  from  home
Knowing  highway  man  on  the  road  guarding the  roads
And  they  are  dreaming  to  go  back  home  to  love  ones
They  sing  of  their  life  stories
On  the  road  over  with  their  CB’s  on and  on
Not  knowing  who  you  are  doesn’t  matter
Knowing  they  will  never  see  you
Country  music  and  women  are  their  favorite  talk
Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn  Willie Nelson’s
Patsy Cline  song’s  blasting
Echoing on the  pray  land
They  dream  of  fresh  brewed  hot  coffee
Number seventy  six  truck  stops
Waiting  for  eighteen  wheelers
Fresh  brewed  coffee  with  large  mug
And  delicious  hot  meals  with  generous  portions
They  are  the  soldiers  of  the  highway
If  your  car  is  broken  down, they  will be  the  first  ones  to  help  you
When  you’re  thousands  miles  away  from  home
Knowing  the highway  man  on  the  road  will be guarding the  roads
But they  are  also dreaming  to  go  back  home  to their love  ones

WHAT A FEELING

Oh  what  a feeling
A Feeling  so  light  like  a  butterfly
Walking  without  coat
As  the  whether  warms  up
I  feel  just  like  the  birds
I  am  flying  flying
I  am  singing  singing  singing
I  am  running  running  running
I  feel  like  dancing  dancing  dancing
Oh  what  a  feeling
I  am  the  green  grass
I am  the  blossoming  trees
I  am  the  blossoming  flowers  in  the  fields
I  am  the  sunny  days  I  am  the  blue  skies
My  first  name  is  March
My  middle  name  is  April
My  last  name  is  May
Everyone  calls  me Spring

ANTALYA

My  heart is  longing  for  you
Your  beauty  is  like  a  postcard  in  my  eyes
My  love  to  you  is  higher  than  the  Mount  Everest
I  want  to  kneel  to  you
Majestic  mountains  side  by  side
Reaching  out  to  the  skies
Green  valleys  approaching  to  the  crystal  clear
Blue  water  of  the  Mediterranean  sea
Beautiful  towns  along  the  sea  shore
Alanya  Kemer  Kas  Fenike
Prettier  than  one  and  other
Historical  sites  and  ruins
Picturesque  port  of  Alanya
Clock  tower  and  Castle  of  Alanya
On  the  hills  homes  with  red  tile  roofs
Open  air  tea  gardens  bursting  with  colorful  flowers
Antalya  if  you  could  listen  my  heart
My  admiration  my  love  for  you
Its  like  a  mothers  heart  missing  her  child
I  feel  like  running  in  the  green  fields
Picking  up  bouquet  of  flowers
Picking  up  oranges  pomegranates
And  bananas  from  the  trees
With  these  desires in  my  dreams
I  have  wings  I  am  flying  to  Antalya
From  the  Toros  mountains  clean  air
Salty  air  from  the  sea  its  a  gift  from  god
Handful  of  land  is  more  precious  than  diamond
I  am  intoxicated   from  Antalya’s  beauty
This  land  is  mine  knowing  that
Thousand  one  flowers  blooms  in  my  hear

SUCCESS

What is success and how can it be measured
Our world says it’s money and material possessions
What you make on the job
What education you have
True meaning succes is mental happiness
Doing thing you love
Reaching out your dreams
Accomplishing your goals
Your success can’t be compaired
With what your friends has accomplished
Your own needs your talents your desires and abilities
Lead you to your own path of succes
Dreamers and high achievers
The search for success is endless
There’s always another mountain to climp
Another dream to dream
What is success
Success is being accepted being loved
And cared and appreciated
And honored for vhat you’re doing

Turkish Poetry

TURK KADINI

Caliskan azimli fedakar
Yuvasina bagli sevgiyle buyutur cocuklarini
Elinde bereket sofrasinda bin niymet
Yoktan var eder herseyi
Bugday basaklari gibi bire bin yaratir
Nefis yemekler borekler tatlilar yapar
Taze receller salcalar ve tursular kurar
Zebzeler kurutup
Yazdan kisa hazirlik yapar
Havasi suyu ve topragindan olmali
Guzel yurdun guzel kadinlari
Yuregi sevgi dolu insanlara
Uzum gozlu badem gozlu gul yanakli
Turk kadinlari
Misafirperver ve candan dostluklari
Tutun ve pamuk tarlasinda uzum baglarinda
Cay bahcelerinde cay toplayan
Sicak gunesin altinda iki buklum calisip
Alin teriyle para kazanan
Bir taraftan evinin isleriyle
Bir taraftan cocuklarini sevgisiyle besleyen hanimlar
Umutlarin alninin teriyle yeserir
Hali dokuyan kilim dokuyan
Nakis isleyen danteller oren dikis diken
Marifetli hanimlar
Doktor avukat ogretmen hemsire hanimlar
Asirlardir gosterdin kendini
Mevlananin Yunus Emrenin Sultan Suleymanin
Atataturk’un torunlari
Alni acik bagri yanik
Elin opulmeye layik Turk kadini
Verimli toprak gibidir
